Beanie Cap Delayed!

Description of Instrument:

This proposal is for an amendment to the existing Certificate of Approval No. A 461002 for a 104 hectare waste disposal facility (landfill) located at 2301 Carp Road in the City of Ottawa. The facility currently has constructed a landfill gas "beanie" cap control system. In 2009, phase 1 of the beanie cap was installed; phase 2 was set to be installed in 2010 and phase 3 in 2011. The facility requires an amendment in order to complete a portion of the phase 2 of the beanie cap installation at a later date (2011). No changes to the site volume, site closure date, and technical aspects of the beanie cap will occur. The hours of operation are from 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, serving the Province of Ontario.

This proposal has been posted for a 30 day public review and comment period starting June 25, 2010. If you have any questions, or would like to submit your comments, please do so by July 25, 2010 to the individual listed under "Contact". Additionally, you may submit your comments on-line.

All comments received prior to July 25, 2010 will be considered as part of the decision-making process by the Ministry of the Environment if they are submitted in writing or electronically using the form provided in this notice and reference EBR Registry number 011-0419.
